About Me

Bobs and Bits has become my creative outlet to do
what I love and have been unable to do at my
“regular” job.  Although I have been drawing and
painting most of my life (and also have a degree in
Architecture), I have been a professional social
worker for the past ten years.  While I love doing
that kind of work as well, after the onslaught of
hurricane Katrina and the subsequent birth of my
son (now a healthy, busy pre-schooler), I
desperately needed a place to expend some
creative energy.  Like the birth of many
child-inspired businesses, the world of baby
became known to me during my pregnancy and it
has been an obsession ever since.  Because I was evacuated during my pregnancy, and later displaced due to storm damage to my home, I did not have the full “nesting” experience that  most women get to have, so I am making up for it now!

I began this venture by making gifts for the children of friends.  Because of their positive reactions, and because of the enthusiastic support of my family, I have decided to open the doors to other people as well.  Out of my love for drawing and painting, for “nesting,” and for making other people happy, Bobs and Bits was born.  I hope you enjoy my website and my work as much as I have enjoyed creating it!
